Maintenance requirements are set by the Auckland Unitary Plan.
A primary system must be serviced every 3 years.
A secondary system must be serviced every 6 months.
A pump-out must be done when the sludge and solids fill 50% of the tank volume but may be needed earlier depending on the condition and use of the system.
